Our predecessors, the Homo Sapiens appear to have inhabited Earth for 20000 years.  For much of this time little development occurred in their society, that is until the great enlightenment of the Anthropocene.

Fossil records indicate that within a few hundred years, humans developed cities, made technological advances, created complex economic, social and political systems, and learnt much about the science of our universe.

This knowledge however, came at a great cost.  By using fossil  and geological evidence, we are now able to piece together the sudden demise of the Anthropocene and the reasons that lead to the mass extinction event of the epoch.
